Founded in 1928, the Mississippi Law Journal is the flagship Journal of the University of Mississippi School of Law. The Journal is funded and operated almost exclusively through student efforts. Each year, the Journal publishes one volume, in at least four books, containing articles by legal scholars and practitioners, as well as select pieces by student members of the Journal.
In addition to its scholarly publication, the Journal publishes a weekly case briefing service, BriefServ. This service provides its subscribers with succinct synopses of every published decision of the Mississippi Supreme Court and Mississippi Court of Appeals, months before those opinions appear in regional reporters.
